Ruta Mariano Benlliure

The Mariano Benlliure Route is a virtual tour through more than thirty sites in the city of Valencia, all of which related to the sculptor’s life and work. Visitors may choose between the biographical or the artistic tour, which explores various aspects of his life. The artistic tour, starting in the historical centre and ending at the Malvarrosa beach, takes visitors along an engaging journey featuring an excellent selection of his sculptures.

The exhibition opened on March 26 with a round-table conference by Joan Oleza Simó (Universitat de València), Felipe Garín (Consorcio de Museos de la Comunidad Valenciana) and Facundo Tomás (Universidad Politécnica de Valencia).

Sorolla Room. Fine Arts Museum of Valencia

The Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia has increased the Sorolla Room space to allow the temporal exhibition of new works. From November 8 exhibits there 58 works by Joaquín Sorolla. St. Pius V Museum opened its Sorolla Room to the public in December 2012.

The show presents in Valencia through the image of Clotilde in the works of Sorolla, the many facets of this woman, partner, muse and mother, and highlights its role as founder of the Museo Sorolla.

"El siglo XIX en el MUBAG. De la formación a la plenitud de un artista", explores the art from 19th Century of the Region of Alicante. The exhibition shows more than 60 paintings by Fernando Cabrera, Ricardo Navarrete y Fos, Heliodoro Guillén, Emilio Sala, Antonio Gisbert and Joaquin Agrasot, among others. The show ends with some works painted in Jávea (Alicante) by Joaquín Sorolla. Sorolla was a strong influence on generations of painters from Alicante.
