The Joaquín Sorolla Institute for Research and Study is a project promoted by the Valencian government.

It responds to public interest in the culture of Joaquín Sorolla's day through rigorous research, as well as the dissemination and publication of studies and activities.

The main objective of the Sorolla Institute is to help promote Valencian culture on an international level. To achieve this goal, it focuses on analyzing cultural expressions that took place at the turn of the 20th century. The Institute organizes exhibitions, publications and other activities aimed at expanding our knowledge of the time of Joaquín Sorolla Bastida, an indisputable artistic icon of the region of Valencia.
